Today is Yesterday’s Tomorrow

Do you want to enjoy the finer things but do not have the health to do it? Are you worried that you may not be able to live long, in good health? Have you been thinking of doing something about your health but “it can wait till tomorrow?”

The problem with waiting until tomorrow is that when it finally arrives, it is called today. Today is yesterday’s tomorrow. The question is what did we do with its opportunity? All too often we will waste tomorrow as we wasted yesterday, and as we are wasting today.

As successful persons, you have applied important principles of setting goals and developing a sense of urgency to accomplish things now, for the business opportunity that is present today, may not be available tomorrow.

So why is it that many otherwise successful people do not apply the same principles to their health needs?

It is often quoted that no one ever said on his deathbed that he wished to have spent one more day in the office. And the truth is, many of us agree. We also know or at least heard of one person who spent his life gathering riches and in the meanwhile neglecting health, and then spending away their hard-earned money pursuing health when some disease finally caught up.

Each of us must pause frequently to remind ourselves that the clock is ticking. The same clock that began to tick from the moment we drew our first breath will also someday cease.

When the game of life is finally over, there is no second chance to correct our errors. The clock that is ticking away the moments of our lives does not care about winners and losers. It does not care about who succeeds or who fails. It does not care about excuses, fairness or equality. The only essential issue is how we have used the time given to us.

Regardless of a person’s current age, there is a sense of urgency that should drive them into action now – this very moment. We should be constantly aware of the value of each and every moment of our lives – moments that seem so insignificant that their loss often goes unnoticed.

Right now, for most of us, we still have all the time we need. We still have lots of chances – lots of opportunities – lots of years to show what we can do. For most of us, there will be a tomorrow, a next week, a next month, and a next year. But unless we develop a sense of urgency, those brief windows of time will be sadly wasted, as were the weeks and months and years before them.

Many of us buy insurance for that ‘just in case' scenario where we may need the money.

If you have good health now, what guarantees do you have that you will still be healthy tomorrow? What ‘insurance’ are you buying to ensure that you still have good health 10 years from now?

I’m not referring to the health insurance sold by insurance companies here. Prevention is better than cure, and no amount of money the insurance companies give you can replace not having to go to the doctor in the first place!

If you are ill now and in need of healing, what are you doing to get back the good health you desire? By spending lots of money on doctors and drugs that give horrible side-effects?

Seriously, ask yourself, do you really feel better after seeing medical specialists and spending tons of hard-earned money on expensive drugs?

Of course, medical care has its uses, but isn’t there a better method of strengthening your body and immune system in a safe, natural, and drug-free manner until you recover, instead of relying on drugs completely?

And one of the greatest peeve I have, people who are already in advanced stages of some disease, and yet being stubborn about it. One would have thought that they would grasp at any opportunity to be healed. I’m not referring to those quacks who exploit such people with fake cures in exchange for a quick buck. I’m referring to methods that are time-tested through the centuries and around the world.

Two cases I personally know, to whom I offered to teach the healing arts in a last-ditch effort to, at the very, very least, relieve some pain and allow a dignified going. Oh no, the doctor knew better. If the doctor knew better, why were they bedridden in hospital instead of out there playing with their grandkids?

None of them survived the next month.

The time you have is yours. The choice you make is also yours. Every person has the same 24 hours. What you want to do with it is your own decision.

If you want to have good health – to maintain it, or to get it – you have to make that decision now, you have to do something about it now.

Remember, today is yesterday’s tomorrow. If half an hour, or an hour, of your time today, right now, is not worth investing for future years of good health and longevity, tell me, how successful are you, really?
